We came, we walked, we raised $5,400+. This walk was much better than last year's in terms of us getting through it. We had a prior walk under our belts, knew what to expect, and could enjoy ourselves more fully. Last year my mom, aunt, and I walked in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for the very first time. We raised over $9,000 for the cause and walked a marathon (26 miles!) in one day. This past weekend was the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I signed up in January and have been training and fundraising ever since. I met my mid-point fundraising goal in February, which felt huge. It ended up that Team Joan of Heart raised $8,414 for the Walk and breast cancer awareness. The grand total for the Boston Walk was $6.9 million! Amazing ( Read more... )
